Congratulations on completing the Student Privacy Train-the-Trainer Program!
You will find the workshop agenda, prework instructions, speaker bios, and resources on this page. Please check back regularly for updates and do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions.
You will be presenting on a topic of your choice during the closing workshop. Choose from any content areas we have covered during the training. It’s very important that you coordinate with your group members to pick your presentation topic to make sure your topics don’t overlap. The presentations will be split between the two days of the workshop with half of the group members presenting on the first day and the other half on the second day, so determine the order in which you will present as well. After incorporating feedback from the workshop, you will schedule a time to record your final presentation with FPF and also will have the option to publish your presentation on the official Student Privacy Compass YouTube channel to serve as a resource for others.
Before the workshop:
As a Group: Choose individual topics that do not overlap.
As a Group: Choose the order in which you will present.
Individually: Develop a 10-minute presentation using a slide deck and notes.
During the workshop:
Each presenter will present in the predetermined order while the “audience” uses the rubric to provide feedback.
You will have 1 hour for participants to present each day.
Each participant will email the feedback rubric to the presenter as soon as possible.
After the workshop:
Incorporate feedback and “polish” your presentation.
Schedule time to record your final presentation.
Record your presentation.
We will be using Google Sheets, Docs, and Slides for the workshop sessions, so please let me know if you anticipate any problems accessing those sites. You will also need your own device to fully participate in the Zoom breakout rooms for small group discussions.
If you are able, review the portfolio checklist and begin pulling together your tools prior to the closing workshop. We will have time to work on our portfolios during the workshop as well.
Finally, we will be creating a video for our virtual graduation for participants to share your reflections on the program. You can schedule a 15-minute time block to record your short video message with Jasmine here.

Creating an Elevator Pitch
Erin Mote is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of InnovateEDU. In this role, Erin leads the organization and its major projects including technology product development, work on data interoperability and data systems, and an urban-education Fellowship for new educators. She leads the organization’s work on creating uncommon alliances to create systems change – in special education, talent development, and data modernization. She created InnovateEDU’s signature product – Cortex, a next-generation learning platform, student information system, and formative assessment engine that supports personalized learning.
Erin is also the co-founder of Brooklyn Laboratory Charter School. She is a recognized leader in technology, mobile, and broadband and has spent much of her career focused on expanding access to technology in the US and abroad. She has led ground-breaking initiatives, including scaling wireless communications to the developing world, developing global and national strategic technology plans, and work with the country’s leading technology companies. Erin has served in an advisory capacity to the White House/OSTP’s US Ignite Initiative, the President’s Global Development Innovation Policy, the State Department’s TechCamp program, and the Obama Administration’s intra-agency process for Rio 2.0 and Rio+20. Erin served as the founding Chief of Party for the USAID Global Broadband and Innovations Alliance – a $19.5 million global technology expansion project.
Erin served in senior positions with CHF International and Coulter Companies after starting her career as the Director of External and Strategic Relations for Arizona State University. A recognized leader in alliance building, Erin has facilitated working groups and has served in an advisory capacity for several leading international organizations, including the Clinton Foundation, GSMA, and the Business Center for Civic Leadership at the US Chamber. A recognized leader in technology and development, emerging markets, and public-private partnerships, Erin is an Aspen Institute Socrates scholar. She has an MPA from Arizona State and is a proud alumnus of the University of Michigan.
