While a great deal of attention has been paid recently to protecting the privacy of students’ personal information and education records, this resource argues that families and educators also need to be aware of the use and disclosure of students‘ personal information in research conducted by universities and other entities. This resource explores some potential gaps in student privacy protection when student information is used for research purposes.
